The Greenwood Legacy Corporation announced two major milestones that signal a new phase of growth and momentum for the implementation of the Kirkpatrick Heights/Greenwood Master Plan: approval of its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and the appointment of its inaugural executive director, national housing leader John Hall.

In early 2023, the Community Governance Working Group, partnering with national experts and Partner Tulsa, recommended forming a Community Development Corporation (CDC) to lead implementation of the Master Plan. By January 2024, the Tulsa Development Authority Board of Commissioners passed a resolution supporting the creation of an Advisory Committee to guide the CDC’s formation.
